Deputies Update: End of Day Three

Deputy Barbara Crumbacker shares, “Hello from Louisville, everyone!” As a first timer to General Convention, what an exciting, enlightening and educational event for me!! I’ve been fortunate to have been able to start off convention, and vote, as a deputy and experience that process, as well as being an alternate deputy.

Experiencing the revival with Presiding Bishop Michael Curry on the first night was awesome!! It was filled with such love and the event brought me to tears of joy. The opportunity to see and hear our Presiding Bishop speak, I will always remember. What a great event to kick off this convention!!

I have also had the opportunity to meet and speak with so many people from so many dioceses. Getting to know them and their homes, and sharing all about the Diocese of East Carolina has been fun. In the evenings, I’ve spent some time with some ladies who are here with the ECW Triennial, including our very own, recently awarded ECW Distinguished Woman, Annie Jacobs.

The Daughters of the King are arriving today for their triennial, and I look forward to hopefully seeing our Province IV President, Connie Widney, before leaving.Included in the gallery below are some pictures that I have taken today:

  • A beautiful sunrise this morning- what a great gift from God!!
  • A picture of Richard Elliott singing with the choir during Morning Prayer.
  • A picture of the five nominees for our next Presiding Bishop.
  • A picture of all of us on the floor representing Camp Trinity for “Camp Day”.
