Highlights from GC81: Day 1, June 23
The 81st General Convention has officially commenced! On this first day of legislative business, the day began with Opening Eucharist (pictured to the right; photo by Randall Gornowich), followed by a full day of legislative sessions and other events. Opening EucharistEpiscopal Diocese of Kentucky Bishop Terry White presided, and House of Deputies President Julia Ayala Harris preached at a Eucharist service in the ballroom of the Kentucky International Convention Center. Watch the service online.

Episcopal Church Women’s 150th Anniversary PartyGC81 attendees joined the ECW in a festive evening celebration of its 150 years at the Hyatt Regency. A Case for Love Documentary and Q&A with Filmmakers
In celebration of Presiding Bishop Michael Curry’s ministry and the film’s Episcopal roots, two free screenings of A Case for Love were offered Sunday at the Moritz von Bomhard Theater. Filmmakers responded to questions and provided sample discussion guides in advance of the film’s scheduled digital release this fall.
