School for Ministry Offers Community Hope: Limited Lay Spaces Available
July 12, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - August 31, 2023 @ 10:00 am
You are invited to deepen your spiritual life with Community of Hope.
The course work for the 2023-24 academic year from the School for Ministry of the Diocese of East Carolina is centered around curriculum developed by the Community of Hope program (https://www.cohinternational.org/). As it says on their website, “[t]he Community of Hope International was founded to form praying communities, encouraging each other in love, to be a nonjudgmental listening presence to those we encounter on a daily basis. The spirituality of St. Benedict, reflected in the wisdom of his Rule, lights our way to truly become a Gospel people proclaiming God’s love for all of creation.”
Beginning in September and continuing through April, the program will be taught over the course of six sessions, four full days and two over nights, for a total of approximately 40 hours. The three day-long sessions will be in Kinston. The two overnights will be held at Trinity Center, you will be responsible for your own accommodations at TC or nearby, in-person attendance is required for all.
Dates for the three day-long: September 16, December 2, & February 3, 2024
Dates for the two overnights: November 3-4, & March 8-9, 2024
This program requires dedication and commitment. Participants must commit to attend and participate in all sessions. And though most of the work will be done in the sessions, there will be some preparation, mostly reading, for each of the sessions. We have room for up to an additional 12 participants to join in the program. The cost is $200 per person which includes all meals and materials.
If interested, please contact Canon Mollie Roberts for more information and remember that space is limited.
