Getting Started with L.A.T.I.N.O.: The Parish Readiness Assessment
Interested in getting started with L.A.T.I.N.O.? Before beginning to use the L.A.T.I.N.O. tool with your parish, it’s helpful to take a thoughtful look at your congregation and its readiness to engage in the steps of L.A.T.I.N.O.. This assessment will help you reflect on the degree to which your parish is ready to begin this work. Each question is based on a scale of 1-10, with a maximum score of 50 possible.
1. On a scale of 1-10, how open is your congregation to newcomers, with 1=not at all open and 10=very open?
2. On a scale of 1-10, to what degree does your congregation reflect the surrounding community in its membership/attendance, with 1=not at all reflective and 10=a complete reflection?
3. On a scale of 1-10, how easily does your congregation integrate newcomers into its ministries (committees, activities, ministries, and vestry), with 1=not easily and 10=very easily?
4. On a scale of 1-10, how well does your congregation deal with change, with 1=not well at all and 10=very effectively?
5. On a scale of 1-10, how culturally and racially diverse is your congregation, with 1=not at all diverse and 10=very diverse?

Scoring:
1-15: Your congregation may require Diocesan support to engage with L.A.T.I.N.O.. Contact the Rev. Fred Clarkson.
15-30: More conversations and reflection may be needed before engaging in L.A.T.I.N.O.
30-50: Your congregation is ready to take the first step in L.A.T.I.N.O.
